Our Story

Prewitt Industrial Park is approximately 640-acres of vacant, undeveloped land adjacent to existing industrial cluster made up of the Escalante Generating Station (owned by Tri-State Generation & Transmission Association), McKinley Paper, and El Segundo and Lee Ranch coal mines. McKinley County has entered into a lease with the State Land Office, who owns this parcel and has a Joint Planning Agreement (JPA) with this agency to explore economic development opportunities.

McKinley County and its partners have continued a process to expand opportunities in Prewitt as the economic engine for the region. The County has developed a site master plan, preliminary engineering, and a 90% shovel-ready 120,000 square foot spec-building - all that can be built to suit.   It is strategically located near US Interstate 40 (Exit 63), NM Highway 118 (Route 66), adjacent to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe transcontinental railroad,  and has the potential for multiple access roods. The parcel is large enough to provide for a mix of uses and for phased development.

A Master Plan & Site Design is completed with a Spec Building that 90% designed and ready to be finalized with your company in mind.
